Yogyakarta, 20 March 2025 — YAKKUM Emergency Unit, through its Community-led Innovation Partnership (CLIP) programme, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening community resilience through the IDEAKSI (Ideas, Innovation, Action, Inclusion) initiative. In a cross-sector meeting, IDEAKSI brought together local innovators and stakeholders from various sectors, including the government, academia, the private sector and the media.

The IDEAKSI programme has been running for almost five years and has supported at least 33 community innovations in various regions: 24 innovations in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, 2 in Palu, Central Sulawesi, 5 innovations in East Nusa Tenggara, 1 innovation and 1 in DKI Jakarta in partnership with CWS Indonesia. These innovations focus on disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation and strengthening community self-reliance.
“We can discuss directly with the relevant agencies and other groups so that we can plan cooperation for the continuation of activities,” Mrs Marini, innovator of the Ngudi Makmur Farmer Group

This event also featured a presentation of research findings from a team of academics from the Faculty of Psychology at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) on community resilience through innovation. A total of 15 videos profiling innovators were shown during the presentation and discussion session of the showcase, where participants provided feedback through the Innovation Passport mechanism as part of strengthening ideas and possibilities for future collaboration.

This forum also produced a number of proposals for cross-sector collaboration focused on five priority areas, namely Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Education Innovation; Adaptive Water and Food Solutions; Accessibility and Health Issues in DRR; Community Resilience to Climate Change; and Emergency Response and Disaster Technology.
“An extraordinary event. Hopefully, this forum can unite all stakeholders and enable innovators to thrive. Before releasing the innovators, it would be good to provide them with skills training so that they can have an impact on their surrounding environment,”Tasya Danela Lutfiah from U-Inspire Indonesia

The enthusiasm and active participation of various parties show that innovations from local communities have great potential to be developed more widely. IDEAKSI also remains committed to being a space for local innovators to grow so that they can have a real impact and encourage the creation of adaptive and inclusive policies in Indonesia.
