Climate Change Adaption
YEU strengthens community capacity to cope with the impacts of climate change through adaptive agricultural practices, water resource management, and inclusive sustainable livelihoods.
Building a More Resilient Future
Recovery efforts should continue even after the crisis has passed. YEU provides long-term support to communities by rebuilding lives, strengthening local capacity, and instilling climate resilience for future generations.
Recovery Requires Support
The Real Climate Crisis
Climate change exacerbates disaster risks and threatens people's lives.
Impact on Vulnerable Groups
The most vulnerable communities, including women, children, persons with disabilities, and the elderly, are most affected by disasters.
Community Participation
Communities are encouraged to assess climate risks themselves and devise solutions appropriate to the local context.
Building Resilience
Inclusive adaptation programmes ensure communities are better prepared to face future climate challenges.
Adaptive Strategies for a Sustainable Future
Strengthening Community Capacity
Assisting farmers and communities to prepare for changes in seasonal patterns.
Managing Resources Sustainably
Promoting community-based water and waste management.
Building Climate-Resilient Livelihoods
Mapping alternative livelihoods to be more adaptive to the climate crisis.
Climate Change Adaption
YEU builds capacity and strengthens community resilience in facing the threats of climate change in coastal areas, the agricultural sector, and the environmental health sector.
YEU facilitates the resilience of coastal communities (including mangrove conservation), capacity building for farmers in climate-adaptive agriculture programmes, lake conservation, tree planting, irrigation, and the production of alternative animal feed.
