YAKKUM Emergency Unit (YEU) is one of the units under the Christian Foundation for Public Health (YAKKUM) with the core mandate to carry out crisis emergency response and community-based disaster risk reduction (DRR).

YEU has extensive experiences in humanitarian response since 2001 through participatory methods in various humanitarian interventions, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation initiatives to disaster-affected communities, with the considerations to addressing the rights and needs of at-risk groups.

YEU works to deliver humanitarian imperative in disaster management with the tagline "RESILIENT, INCLUSIVE and INNOVATIVE".

YEU is one of the founders of the Humanitarian Forum Indonesia (HFI) which promotes capacity building, coordination, and collaboration among humanitarian actors. YEU is an active member of:
ACT Alliance, Asian Disaster Reduction and Response Network (ADRRN), CHS Alliance, Global Network of Civil Society Organization for Disaster Reduction (GNDR), Huairou Commission dan Prevent Waste Alliance.

Vision

Communities affected by disaster have the right to a dignified life and sustainable development , through the synergy of humanitarian services and community development through community-based transformative approach, accountabilitiy and quality performance.

Mission

to be responsive YAKKUM's unit and sustainable unit in disaster management based on strengthened networking in community organising and strategic partnership, accountability, competency, character building and excellent delivery of humanitarian assistance.

Strategic Plan 

  1. Increasing the capacity of communities living in disaster-prone area through disaster management programs which are coordinated with strategic network and has sustainability development and advocacy programs.
  2. Improving the quality of program and community resilience toward disaster and climate change to achieve sustainable and zero-risk development which is coordinated with other strategic networks in terms of partnership, linkage, and sustainability of development and advocacy programs.
  3. Being an independent and best institution in transformational development and good governance.
